SSC CHSL live photo checklist
- Use good, even light. Avoid shadows on your face and a bright window behind you.
- Sit in front of a plain, light-coloured wall.
- Hold the camera at eye level and keep your whole face inside the frame.
- Look straight at the camera. No cap, mask or spectacles.
- Never point the camera at a printed or on-screen photo, because that leads to rejection.

- Fee not paid by 8 Oct 2026. Such applications are summarily rejected.

What is the SSC CHSL 2026 photo size?
There is no photo size, because you do not upload a photo. SSC CHSL 2026 captures your photograph live through a webcam or the mySSC mobile app while you fill the form (paras 9.4–9.5 of the notice). The notice says you are not required to have a pre-existing photograph.
Can I upload a resized or old photo for SSC CHSL 2026?
No. Capturing a photo of an existing photograph leads to rejection. Face the camera directly in good light against a plain background, without a cap, mask or spectacles. Do not use a photo resizer for the CHSL photo.

Para 9.6 and Annexure-III say about 6.0 × 2.0 cm, while Annexure-IV says 4.0 × 2.0 cm. The portal checks the JPEG format and the 10–20 KB size. This tool follows the main text (6.0 × 2.0 cm). Keep the signature clear and readable, because a blurred or illegible signature is a rejection reason.
What is the last date to apply for SSC CHSL 2026?

Why do SSC CHSL applications get rejected for photos or signatures?
The notice lists a photo of a pre-existing photo, a blurred, miniature or side-facing photo, a photo that does not match the specimen, and a blurred, miniature or illegible signature. Candidates who authenticate with Aadhaar are exempt from photo and signature rejection.
My signature JPG is only 4 KB. Will SSC accept it?
No. The minimum is 10 KB. A small signature scan is often only 3–6 KB, so this tool pads it to at least 10 KB without changing how it looks, and never goes above 20 KB.
